What We Believe

“What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in   accordance to their own desires… II Timothy 4:3. NASB

God

We believe in the Godhead that eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and that these three are one God, having precisely that same nature, attributes, and perfections, and are worthy of the same homage, confidence and obedience.
Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, John 10:28-30, Acts 5:3-4, 2 Corinthians 13:14

Jesus

We believe in the Diety of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who voluntarily died for our sins as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of the world, and bearing the holy judgements against sin, which the righteousness of God imposed. Also, we believe that according to the Scriptures, He arose from the dead in the same body, though glorified, in which He had lived and died. Furthermore, His resurrection body is a pattern of the body which will ultimately be given to all believers.  Luke 1:30-35, John 1:1, John 1:14, John 1:18, John 20:20-29, Romans 3:25-26, Romans 5:5-15, Colossians 2:9-10, Philippians 2:5-11, Hebrews 4:14-16, Hebrews 10:5-14

Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Godhead who took up His abode in the world in a special way on the day of Pentecost according to the divine promise, He now indwells every born again believer, and by His baptism, He unites all to Christ in one body and He is the source of all power and     acceptable worship and service and righteous living. All who receive Christ by faith are born of the Holy Spirit who regenerates them, indwells them,  baptizes them, seals them, and gifts them. John 3:3-6, Acts 5:1-4, Romans 5:5, Romans 8:9-11, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, 1Corinthians 12:13, Galatians 5:16-25, Ephesians 4:30, Titus 3:5-7

Bible

We believe in the Bible as the inerrant inspired Word of God. The divine inspiration extends to all parts of the Bible. We also believe that all the Scriptures center on the Lord Jesus Christ in His person and work in His first and second coming. The Scriptures are also, designed for our practical instruction.  Luke 24:44-48, Romans 15:4, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21

Church

We believe in the Church as an elect company of believers who are united to the risen and ascended  Savior through the baptism of the Holy Spirit into one body which began at Pentecost. Its mission is to witness concerning its head, Jesus Christ, by preaching the gospel among all    nations. In addition, it is to make disciples and love one another with a pure and fervent heart. It will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air when He appears to set up His Kingdom. There is a promised reward in heaven for faithful service on earth.
Matthew 16:16-18, Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:42-47, 1 Corinthians 3:12-15, 2 Corinthians 5:10-21, Ephesians 4:3-10, Ephesians 4:13-16

We believe that the Scriptural ordinances of Water Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are for all believers in this church age.
Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:15, Acts 10:47-48, 1 Corinthians 11:26

We believe that God has ordained men to have final authority and responsibility for the church.
Mark 3:13-19, Acts 20:17, Acts 20:28, 1 Timothy 3:1-2, 1 Peter 5:1-4, 1 Corinthians 11:2-16, 1  Timothy 2:11-15
…However, God also desires to use women in significant areas in the church based on their giftedness such as: ministry in personal evangelistic ministries around the world, John 4:39, Romans 1:14-17
...teaching ministries to women and children. Romans 12:7
…service ministries such as visitation, benevolence, and hospitality. James 1:27, Romans 16:1-2
….assisting her husband in his ministries. Genesis 2:18-23, Romans 16:3, 1Timothy 3:11
…family ministries to her children. 1Timothy 2:15, 2 Timothy 1:5, 2 Timothy 3:15, Proverbs 31:10-31
….counseling ministries to other women and in many other ways. Titus 2:4-5

Spiritual Gifts

We believe that divine, enabling gifts for service are bestowed by the Spirit upon all who have trusted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. While there is a diversity of gifts, each believer is  energized by the same Spirit, and each is called to his own divinely appointed service to the glory of God, the edification of the church, and the good of this fallen world.
Romans 12:3-8, 1 Corinthians 1:26-31, 1 Corinthians 12:4-31, Ephesians 4:15-16,  1 Peter 4:10-11

We believe in the sign gifts of the Holy Spirit, such as tongues and the gift of healing are still  operable today, but must be used in accordance with 1 Corinthians 12 and 14 and in the spirit of  1 Corinthians 13. 1 Corinthians 12, 1 Corinthians 14, 1 Corinthians 13

End Times

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost. Matthew 24:15-28, Acts 24:14-15, Romans 8:19-23, 1Timothy 4:1-3, 2Timothy 3:1-5, 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11, Revelation 20:11-15

We believe in the personal pre-millennial and imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the air to receive to Himself His own who are alive, and He will bring with Him all who have   fallen asleep in Christ. John 14:1-3, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
